The following chart shows the TD-MI "trimmed mean" or core inflation results based on the annualised three month change time-series. Today TD-MI reported that headline inflation rose a stonking 0.5% in the month of March while trimmed mean inflation also advanced by a high 0.3%. Having said that, TD argue: "[I]t is clear that while prices were sticky in the first few months of 2012, much of this can be accounted for by seasonality".
