The author has been described by News Ltd as an "iconoclast", "Svengali", a pollie's "economist muse", and "pungently accurate". Fairfax says he is a "Renaissance man" and "one of Australia’s most respected analysts." Stephen Koukoulas concludes that he is "85% right", and "would make a great Opposition leader." Terry McCrann claims the author thinks "‘nuance’ is a trendy village in the south of France", but can be "scintillating" when he thinks "clearly". Very thoughtful and upbeat speech by Glenn Stevens...

Some choice qoutes from the RBA Governor's speech, which was really quite impressive (the writing was also unusually good--and he's never been bad):

"China’s share of global GDP could exceed that of the euro area within another five years…

As to the effects on Australia, the euro area takes only about 5 per cent of Australia’s exports…

Australia does not have a problem with public debt, as I have already said. Nor do we have a problem with corporate debt."
