AFR editorial backs pricing deposit guarantee
This is a very good AFR editorial on whether banks should get their deposit funding guaranteed for free by taxpayers, or whether they should pay a price for the service. It follows my FOI search with John Kehoe, which revealed for the first time the Treasurer had been advised by the RBA, APRA and Treasury to publicly consult on the merits of said policy.
