The author has been described by News Ltd as an "iconoclast", "Svengali", a pollie's "economist muse", and "pungently accurate". Fairfax says he is a "Renaissance man" and "one of Australia’s most respected analysts." Stephen Koukoulas concludes that he is "85% right", and "would make a great Opposition leader." Terry McCrann claims the author thinks "‘nuance’ is a trendy village in the south of France", but can be "scintillating" when he thinks "clearly". The ACTU reckons he’s "an enigma wrapped in a Bloomberg terminal, wrapped in some apparently well-honed abs."

Koukie launches new consulting firm!
Good on him. Well-known economist, Stephen Koukoulas, is available for hire here. There is definitely a market for these businesses, and I have previously encouraged friends to start them. It helps to have political connections, and Koukie has those in bucket-loads when it comes to the ALP. The good thing about Koukie is that he has strong views and is willing to back them. He can also swivel 180 degrees and change his mind when he wants to. Sometimes economists can get frustrating when they don't offer clear guidance. I wish him the best.
