US consumer confidence highest in 12 months

* US: So far, rising gasoline prices have not sapped consumer confidence. Indeed, the February University of Michigan index jumped 3.9% to 75.3 (the highest level in 12 months) from 72.5 early in the month and 75.0 in January.
