China Statistics Bureau: Employee Investigated On Suspicion Of Leaking Data

BEIJING (Dow Jones)--An employee of the National Bureau of Statistics is being investigated on suspicion of leaking data, the bureau's spokesman Sheng Laiyun told a regular news conference Tuesday. The employee works for the bureau's general affairs office, Sheng said. He didn't provide any further details. Some local and foreign news organizations, as well as some local brokerages, have in the past reported correct economic data before their official release.
