The author has been described by News Ltd as an "iconoclast", "Svengali", a pollie's "economist muse", and "pungently accurate". Fairfax says he is a "Renaissance man" and "one of Australia’s most respected analysts." Stephen Koukoulas concludes that he is "85% right", and "would make a great Opposition leader." Terry McCrann claims the author thinks "‘nuance’ is a trendy village in the south of France", but can be "scintillating" when he thinks "clearly". Who reads this blog?

A reader recently enquired about who reads this blog. Much of the content here is syndicated out fairly widely to Business Spectator, which is Australia's No. 1 financial news site by readers, and the likes of Switzer.com.au. The blog directly averages close to 1,000 page views a day (with only slightly more than 1x page view per unique visitor since there are not many click-through articles), and is regularly referenced by major national newspapers (eg, the SMH at some length only days ago). Enclosed below is a select list of who has read the blog directly in the past few weeks. Note that there are many more readers with IP addresses that cannot be identified by Google Analytics--ie, they have non-specific telco addresses (click to enlarge).
