Wage growth likely to pick up as labour market tightens

More from Macquarie:

"The current ratio of unemployed people to the number of job vacancies (using the ABS measure) is around 3½ times, which suggests that there will be a pick-up in wages growth in the coming months. Moreover, this analysis suggests that a further 1ppt fall in the unemployment rate would likely see wages growth quickly move above 4%."
