BIS Shrapnel sees slowing house-price growth

BIS Shrapnel:

"With interest rates quickly lifting from these ‘emergency’ levels, and the current variable rate of 7.4 per cent now being close to long term trends, the recent levels of price growth cannot be maintained," Mr Zigomanis said.

However, BIS Shrapnel stated that it does not expect house prices to fall, as investors are beginning to return to the market and taking advantage of some of the reduction in owner-occupier demand."
