The author has been described by News Ltd as an "iconoclast", "Svengali", a pollie's "economist muse", and "pungently accurate". Fairfax says he is a "Renaissance man" and "one of Australia’s most respected analysts." Stephen Koukoulas concludes that he is "85% right", and "would make a great Opposition leader." Terry McCrann claims the author thinks "‘nuance’ is a trendy village in the south of France", but can be "scintillating" when he thinks "clearly". The ACTU reckons he’s "an enigma wrapped in a Bloomberg terminal, wrapped in some apparently well-honed abs."

Steve Keen changes his tune...
According to my post below, my old sparring partner, the somewhat battered and bruised Stevie Keen, is now only predicting a 5% fall in house prices (yes, that's a reduction from his 40% best-case scenario some time ago)...God love him. Unfortunately, all these forecasts are more likely than not "contrary indicators". So I would not pay too much attention--these guys don't really know what is going to happen. And for a little gem on economic predictions, cast your eye over Ross Gittins, who has delivered one of his best efforts of the year...Ross and my pal Rory Robertson are two of the most honest operators going around.
