Great news from Yellow Brick Road today on its savings product:
YBR Smarter Money outperformed all bank deposits, term deposits, and cash management trusts
over the quarter based on data published by Canstar, delivering a 6.7% to 7.2% pa return after all
fees (depending on the investor type). YBR Smarter Money’s current annualised rate is between
5.7% to 5.9% p.a...
“While the investment environment over the last quarter was challenging, with declining equity
prices, a half percentage point reduction in the RBA’s cash rate, and a 25% increase in credit spreads,
we were not surprised to see Smarter Money deliver both strong and stable returns,” says YBR
Funds Management Director Darren Harvey. “Crucially, Smarter Money’s 6.7% to 7.2% p.a. return
after fees was coupled with very low volatility of only about 1% p.a. On a risk-adjusted basis, Smarter
Money’s returns have been exceptional. In addition to producing consistent returns, the fund has
had a near-zero correlation with the Australian share market. It has, therefore, provided its investors
with some level of protection from the extreme turbulence witnessed in global equities over the last
few months.”
