Fairfax says he is a "Renaissance man" and "one of Australia’s most respected analysts." Stephen Koukoulas concludes that he is "85% right", and "would make a great Opposition leader." Terry McCrann claims the author thinks "‘nuance’ is a trendy village in the south of France", but can be "scintillating" when he thinks "clearly". The ACTU reckons he’s "an enigma wrapped in a Bloomberg terminal, wrapped in some apparently well-honed abs."

How's the global macro playbook gonna change?

The IMF's Olivier Blanchard provides a summary of the big outstanding questions that now confront global macro. Some guys are gonna make a lot of money if they can answer these questions right! I've been talking about a lot of these issues here for ages (eg, asset prices/financial stability/monetary policy and how price stability leads to instability, etc). The world is going to be a much more interesting place to live in over the next 30yrs compared to the last three decades, that much is for sure.
